A Producing team can consist of many different producer positions. The producers that are running a show often have teams, small or large, that are needed to help them complete their long list of tasks. That’s where you get the amazing Associate Producers, Assistant Producers, Production Assistant, etc.

Hi everyone and thanks for checking out this weeks Exposing The Crew short film!

What would we do without film schools? They are amazing educational machines that pump out sprite young filmmakers who are ready to conquer the world. The energy is contagious when you have fresh hard working filmmakers, like this weeks Associate Producer, Hayley Mellish, ready to make things happen. We’re honored to feature this 2015 graduate of Tribeca Flashpoint College and her student short film, The Velvet Rope.

What drew us to highlight this student short film was the fact that it was shot on location at The Art Institute of Chicago. A lot of student films limit their projects potential by not putting the extra effort into finding great locations. The production value can skyrocket by choosing to not film in front of a blank white wall in your college dorm.

“An interesting fact about this project is that my screenwriting teacher flat out told me I’d never get the Art Institute for my location, but it was actually quite easy and I was glad I tried instead of assuming it was impossible. I remained mum and surprised him at the screening.” – Hayley Mellish

This is a prime example of the type of person Hayley is on any project. She has a very solid reputation among her peers and continues to get booked because of her work ethic. Since graduation she’s been a Production Assistant on indie feature films, Fox’s Empire, Superbowl commercials, Netflix series, a ton of NBC shows, pilots, and more.

Thank you Hayley Mellish for helping create such a fun short film for our viewers this week. If you would like to hire Hayley for your next project, please CONTACT US, so we can connect you with her!

We’d also like to thank Tribeca Flashpoint College for their contribution to the film community in Chicago and for graduating students like Hayley. Please check of Tribeca Flashpoint here: www.TribecaFlashpoint.edu
